ASSOCIAZIONE ASTRONOMICA CORTINA

Jupiter and Saturn: Saturday, November 2

Jupiter and Saturn: Saturday, November 2

On Saturday November 2nd 2024 the Col Drusciè astronomical observatory will be open to the public from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm for telescope observation of the two most beautiful planets of the Solar System: Jupiter and  Saturn.

The Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory has a modern 40cm diameter reflecting telescope, fully automated, which allows the public to directly observe celestial objects from a privileged position due to the clarity of the sky. From the Col Drusciè Observatory you also have a suggestive view "from above" of Cortina d'Ampezzo and its mountains.

The observatory can be reached on foot in a 20-minute walk on a wide, uphill dirt road from the Piè Tofana car park (directions here). Follow the signs and light signals, a torch is recommended. Please note that the observatory is located at 1800 m above sea level and it might be cold.

Entrance fee €5 per person, free entry for children up to 6 years.

It is possible to access the observatory during opening hours, without reservation.
