ASSOCIAZIONE ASTRONOMICA CORTINA

Visit for the public - Saturday, 2025 January 11

Visit for the public - Saturday, 2025 January 11

The Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory has a modern reflecting telescope with a diameter of 40cm, fully automated, which allows the public to directly observe celestial objects from a privileged position due to the clarity of the sky.

During the visit some of the most interesting celestial objects visible in the sky (Moon, stars, planets, nebulae, etc.) will be shown at the telescope. The visit is carried out only in case of clear skies.

From the Col Drusciè Observatory there is also a suggestive view "from above" on Cortina d'Ampezzo and its mountains.

The Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory can be reached by foot, in a 20-minutes walk. The meeting point is in Piè Tofana - reachable by car (https://g.page/baitapietofana) at the visit start time. Then you will go up on foot, with an our employee, to the Observatory. A torch to illuminate the road and shoes suitable for walking on snowy mountain trails are required. Note that the observatory is located at 1800 m a.s.l. and it could be cold.
