Visits for groups and in additional dates

The Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory has a modern reflecting telescope with a diameter of 40cm, fully automated, which allows the public to directly observe celestial objects from a privileged position due to the clarity of the sky.

During the visit some of the most interesting celestial objects visible in the sky (Moon, stars, planets, nebulae, etc.) will be shown at the telescope. During morning visits the Sun will be shown at the telescope. The visit is carried out only in case of clear skies.

From the Col Drusciè Observatory there is also a suggestive view "from above" on Cortina d'Ampezzo and its mountains.

In the evening, the Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory can only be reached by foot, in a 20-minutes walk from Piè Tofana - reachable by car (https://g.page/baitapietofana).

In the morning the Col Drusciè Astronomical Observatory can be reached by foot, in a 20-minutes walk from Piè Tofana, or by the Tofana - Freccia nel Cielo cable car. During the the ski season it is NOT possibie to reach the observatory by foot in the morning.

The location and time of the meeting point will be established with our employee. A torch to illuminate the road (during the night) and shoes suitable for walking on mountain trails are required. In winter the road from Piè Tofana to the Observatory is covered with snow. Note that the observatory is located at 1800 m a.s.l. and it could be cold.

Send your request by filling out the form below, indicating the desired day for the visit. You will then be contacted by email about two weeks before the requested visit to confirm the requested date or, if not available, to agree on another one. The visit takes place only in case of clear skies.
